Broadway’s ‘Every Brilliant Thing’ Sets Record In Daniel Radcliffe’s Final Week

Broadway ended the 2025-2026 season on an upswing last week, with the 40 productions grossing a total $40,707,260, up 7% from the previous week but down 8% from the same week last year. Attendance was 336,648, up 6% from the previous week and holding steady with last year at this time.

Some notable numbers: Every Brilliant Thing set a house record (for a play) at the Hudson Theatre as star Daniel Radcliffe performed his final week (Mariska Hargitay makes her Broadway debut in the role this week). The final tally: $2,296,473. Radcliffe is no stranger to Hudson house records: Merrily We Roll Along, in which he starred with Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez, set the venue’s house record for a musical with $2,766,127.

Cats: The Jellicle Ball, riding high from Tony Award nominations, had its best week ever, filling 97% of seats at the Broadhurst and grossing a big $1,033,755.

Other big earners for the week were Hamilton, coming in at #2 after Every Brilliant Thing with $2,038,122; The Lion King at #3 with $1,979,033; Death of a Salesman, #4 with $1,635,537 for a scheduled seven-performance week; and, at #5, MJ with $1,592,830. Oh, Mary! was close behind at $1,534,410.

Sell outs for the week ending May 24 were Death of a Salesman, Every Brilliant Thing, Hamilton, Just In Time, Oh, Mary!, Ragtime and The Rocky Horror Show. In addition to Jellicle Ball, shows in the 95%+ range were Becky Shaw, Fallen Angels, Hadestown, MJ, Moulin Rouge!, Operation Mincemeat and Proof, with The Lost Boys and Titanique coming close.

In its final week, Beaches was up a bit to $511,892, but still filled only 58% of seats at the Majestic. That’s about the same attendance percentage as Celebrity Autobiography, which opened at the Shubert with a gross of $111,087 and an average ticket price of just $20.88.
