Hulu‘s new releases this week feature Peter Dinklage‘s $763M fantasy movie and more must-watch titles.
The week is off to a magical start with Wicked arriving on September 21. The 2024 film offers a revisionist take on the origin story of the Land of Oz. It traces the unlikely friendship between Elphaba, the misunderstood, green-skinned girl destined to become the Wicked Witch of the West, and Galinda, also known as Glinda, the popular blonde who becomes Glinda the Good.
The film adaptation stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp and Ariana Grande as Galinda/Glinda Upland. Jonathan Bailey joins them as Fiyero Tigelaar, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The cast also includes Peter Dinklage as Dr. Dillamond, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, and Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp.
Meanwhile, September 24 brings the three-episode premiere of American Horror Story: Season 13. The season sees the return of franchise icons, including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Frances Conroy, and Billie Lourd. Joining them are new and supporting cast members Joey Pollari as Ben, Berto Colon as Joe the Doorman, John Waters, Paul Anthony Kelly, and Mat Fraser.
Also releasing on Hulu this week, on September 25, is The Plague. The 2025 psychological drama, directed by Charlie Polinger, delves into adolescent cruelty, peer pressure, and toxic masculinity at a summer water polo camp.
The cast features Everett Blunck as Ben, Kayo Martin as Jake, and Kenny Rasmussen as Eli, with Joel Edgerton as Daddy Wags. The ensemble also includes Lennox Espy as Julian, Lucas Adler as Logan, Elliott Heffernan as Tic Tac, Caden Burris as Matt, and Kolton Lee as Corbin.
