Alison Hammond revealed she was having her heart checked after abruptly disappearing
Hammond left the Oct. 2 episode while appearing alongside Dermot O’Leary. After an ad break, O’Leary returned alone and told viewers that Hammond felt “a little unwell.” He continued the program without her, and she did not return for the remainder of the show.
Later, Hammond shared a video from the hospital and explained that doctors were checking her “ticker.” She also revealed that she had experienced a palpitation, according to E! News.
Despite the scare, Hammond tried to keep the mood light. She reassured followers that she was “fine” and even joked about getting a day off work.
Hammond also suggested that the episode could have involved a panic attack. However, she did not announce a diagnosis, and medical staff were still examining her heart.
Her sudden departure understandably sparked concern among This Morning viewers.
Still, Hammond’s hospital update appeared intended to calm those fears. She remained upbeat while explaining that she wanted doctors to make sure everything was OK. The presenter has remained especially busy with several television projects this year.
Earlier in 2026, Hammond added another major hosting job to her schedule with a new Netflix role.
She has also continued working on The Great British Bake Off and This Morning, keeping her schedule packed with live television and entertainment commitments.
More recently, Hammond interviewed Prince Harry during his U.K. visit. During their lighthearted exchange, Harry revealed that his children enjoy watching Junior Bake Off.
For now, Hammond has not shared any further medical details.
However, she told fans she was doing OK while doctors continued checking her heart.
