Blending the psychological tension of Black Swan and Ingrid Goes West with the toxic allure of influencer culture, The Quiet Ones is a sharp, unsettling thriller about ego, exploitation, and the dark side of social media fame.
Nicholas Winter, Writer, Director, and Producer: “This story explores the collision between grief, ambition, and the digital age. I wanted to examine how far people are willing to go to be seen—and how easily that pursuit can spiral into something truly terrifying. Partnering with The Horror Collective is the perfect way to share this twisted journey with audiences.”
Shaked Berenson, CEO of Entertainment Squad, The Horror Collective’s parent company, added: “The film speaks directly to a generation raised on virality and haunted by the pressures that come with it. We’re excited to spotlight a filmmaker who captures that tension with both style and substance.”
Nicholas Winter is represented by Sebastian Twardosz of Savant Artists who is also the Executive Producer and who negotiated the deal with Entertainment Squad.

The Horror Collective to Release Psychological Thriller COVER on Digital on August 28
Los Angeles, CA – July 31, 2025 – The Horror Collective will release COVER, the taut new psychological thriller from filmmaker Cameron Francis, on digital platforms in North America on August 28. The film made its buzzworthy debut at Panic Fest 2025.
Set largely in a remote motel, COVER follows a traveling stamp dealer whose chance meeting with a woman on the run from an abusive relationship leads to a spiral of manipulation, trauma, and retribution. The film stars Cameron Francis (Never Back Down, George & Tammy), Christopher Schmidt (Recount, Bait Shop), Katherine Lozon, and Garin Jones.

“COVER is the kind of character-driven thriller that packs a real punch. It twists and turns its way through its run time.” said Adam Roberts, Festival Director of Panic Fest. “The characters are rich, the stakes are high, and the cast is perfect. Keep an eye out for Cameron Francis.”
In a time when trauma, isolation, and trust are being explored in deeper ways across genre storytelling, COVER taps into the zeitgeist with a chilling sense of immediacy.
“Genre films are evolving, and COVER is part of that evolution,” said director Cameron Francis. “It’s about what happens when people carry invisible wounds into seemingly simple situations — and how quickly things can become dangerous when no one’s telling the full truth.”
Shaked Berenson, founder of The Horror Collective, added: “Cameron has crafted a gripping, stripped-down thriller that delivers on both mood and momentum. COVER is exactly the kind of intelligent, elevated horror our audience craves.”
