Donald Trump’s statements often draw mixed reactions, including criticism from several high-profile figures. But this time, Trump isn’t facing backlash for something he said. Instead, the hosts of The View are criticizing his administration over what they describe as a White House hiring disaster.
The View hosts slammed Trump after Katie Zacharia’s five-day stint ended in controversy
Katie Zacharia is no longer part of the White House staff following her reported firing on Friday, October 16, 2026. Following Zacharia’s controversial five-day stint, the hosts of The View criticized Donald Trump during the show’s October 19 episode.
According to OK Magazine, Ana Navarro said, “The way she got the job was by looking like press secretary Barbie and kissing his a– on Fox News The educational requirements have nothing to do with the job of press secretary. She could’ve claimed to be an acupuncturist or an astronaut or an astrophysicist, but if she had gone out there and slayed, if she had owned that podium, if she had performed great, nobody would care what she was claiming to be. I place this all on Donald Trump.”
“The easiest part of the job is going into the briefing room and answering questions from the press corps. You have to know what’s going on in all parts of the government at all times, shadow the president. So she failed at the easiest part of the task,” Alyssa Farah Griffin added.
One of the hosts joked that Katie Zacharia’s five-day tenure lasted just “half a Scaramucci.” The remark referenced former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, who served for 11 days during Trump’s first administration.
The hosts of The View weren’t alone in criticizing Trump over Zacharia’s abrupt dismissal. She had reportedly served just five days as White House press secretary. Several high-profile figures and political opponents also criticized the appointment. Their remarks raised questions about the White House’s vetting process. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, Sean Spicer, and Anthony Scaramucci were among those who commented on the controversy. Of course, this isn’t the first time The View panel has called out Trump. The co-hosts have been criticizing the 80-year-old president for years.
