That’s a production wrap on The Running Man.
Edgar Wright is making a new The Running Man movie, which is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Stephen King. King’s book was previously adapted into a 1987 movie directed by Paul Michael Glaser and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
What did Glen Powell say about The Running Man?
Glen Powell, who plays Ben Richards in the movie, shared a behind-the-scenes photo of him and Wright on Instagram.
“That’s a picture wrap on The Running Man,” Powell wrote. “ All my love and appreciation goes out to our incredible cast and crew who have worked tirelessly on it. Can’t wait for the rest of y’all to see what we’ve been shooting….Much more coming soon!”
Wright also shared the picture on his own Instagram account with the same caption.
The Running Man is expected to be released in theaters this coming November, meaning fans of the book and original movie hopefully won’t have to wait too terribly long before the first footage of the remake is released. Along with Powell, the movie stars Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Jayme Lawson, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo.
A description of King’s novel reads, “Ben Richards is a desperate man. With no job, no money, no way out, and a young daughter in need of proper medical attention, he must turn to the only possibility of striking it rich in this near-future dystopian America: participating in the ultra-violent TV programming of the government-sanctioned Games Network. Ben soon finds himself selected as a cotestant on the biggest and the best that the Games Network has to offer: The Running Man, a no-holds-barred thirty-day struggle to stay alive as public enemy number one, relentlessly hunted by an elite strike force bent on killing him as quickly as possible in front of an audience all-too eager to see that happen. It means a billion dollars in prize money if he can live for the next month. No one has ever survived longer than eight days. But desperation can push a person do things they never thought possible—and Ben Richards is willing to go the distance in this ultimate game of life and death….”
The Running Man will be released in United States theaters on November 7, 2025, by Paramount Pictures.
