Nicco Diaz (he/him) is a Queer Afro-Nuyorican poet, educator, cultural entrepreneur and budding playwright reppin’ the Bronx and East Harlem. His work explores themes of identity, family, intergenerational trauma, sexuality, and love, writing in the hope that as he heals he can help others heal as well.
Nicco has been published in Harvard’s Latinx literary journal, PALABRITAS and Red or Green Books LGBTQ Anthology, Out Loud. He is the former Chief of Staff of the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and curates/hosts two highly successful events at Barrio BX, a Puerto Rican restaurant in the Bronx, Book Club and “Poetry & Potions” Open Mic.
Nicco received a B.A. cum laude in English and Latino Studies from Cornell University through HEOP and now serves as a member of the University Council. He is a proud product of NYC public schools.
