I have to admit, I don’t love seeing the husbands of any Real Housewives franchise argue. While I am already with popcorn, when the women start to get frustrated, there is something so wrong about seeing the guys fall out. Below is where I think it all went wrong. Let me know if you agree!
Joe Gorga and Joe Giudice started a trend
Before the Real Housewives of New Jersey feud between the Joes, the men rarely interjected themselves. But a new precedent was set when Joe Gorga and Joe Giudice literally bumped heads. As we all know, Teresa Giudice was the catalyst for the drama by accusing her brother of being a “disappointment” to their family. Juicy Joe didn’t appreciate his wife being insulted, which felt odd because he was always rude to her. The fight was one of the most physical in Real Housewives history and left the men bruised and Joe Gorga without half his head of spray-on hair.
The pent-up emotions of both Jersey men blew up like a volcano. While it is one of the most epic scenes, it is still an uncomfortable moment to watch. It was the start of the demise of the Gorga/Giudice family. And I think sometimes viewers forget this was a real family with real repercussions. At this point, the series was into Seaosn 5 and Teresa, who had already flipped the table. But no one thought it could get much worse, yet as seasons went by, it did.
The RHONJ dudes are close for the most part
Most of the fighting felt like a middle school throwdown. And while the ladies of the Garden State often found it hard to get along, their husbands were best friends. Over the years, fans have watched Joe, Frank Catania, Joe Benigno, Bill Aydin, and Evan Goldschneider form a close bond. So when Luis Ruelas rocked onto the scene, viewers were hoping the men would stay in the status quo. But it didn’t. And one of the worst things is having to watch these funny men who choose sides because then no one wins. As Jennifer Aydin and Melissa Gorga butted heads, the husbands started to lose their love for one another.
In the guy’s group text, everyone noted how excited they were to see Bill. But Joe, at one point, texted Bill, writing, “F*ck you.” And no one was sure if he was kidding or being serious. Obviously, Bill and Jen were offended. The rest of the men were shocked Joe had the “balls” to say that amongst all the friends. The beef really hindered Bill and Joe from moving forward, and the issues were not helped when Luis walked onto the scene. The group of guys fans once loved was morphing, and it didn’t feel good to watch.
Tempers flare on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
It feels like Lisa Barlow and Whitney Rose have been going at it for years. But in reality, it has only been three episodes. But this week, fans watched as Justin Rose and John Barlow became entangled in a bit of a scuffle. And all I wanted to do was yell for an adult to break it up. It was hard to say what caused their issue, but I think it was a bit too much testosterone. The episode picked up as Lisa stalked Whitney about her character assassination, but when Justin added his two cents, the argument took a nasty turn. Justin seemed to snap at Lisa, which was very uncharacteristic.
This action caused John to step in and almost jump Justin. Next thing we know, Justin is saying he is going to “beat his a**,” and John is manhandling Justin away from Lisa. The entire scene felt icky since these two guys were supposed to be friends. Perhaps the worst was seeing them meeting for drinks and leaving in a stalemate. When the Real Housewives’ husbands fight, it just feels like we are in the upside down. The men are usually the voice of reason, while their wives are losing their minds over their glam squad being stolen. I know we love the Bravo drama, but the men should stick to what they are good at. And that is bringing a level of humor to each series. But what can I say? Some people just love to watch the Bravoverse burn.
