‘Queer Eye’ Tan France Explains Shocking New Look With Fans

Tan France is known to many for his work with Netflix’s Queer Eye. Thanks to this, his own look is famous in its own right. However, he recently had to turn to social media to explain when a recent change caught some fans off guard.

Tan France Served As The Fashion Expert For Queer Eye, But That’s Just One Part Of His Resume

France is a television personality best known as the fashion expert for Netflix’s Queer Eye series. He is also known for hosting the web series, Dressing Funny, and co-hosting Next in Fashion.

Over the years, fans have also seen France take on a few acting roles. This includes shows like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Deli Boys. He is also known for a few voice acting roles.

For many, France’s most iconic feature is his silver locks. Thanks to this, he recently caused a bit of a stir when he appeared with black hair. Recently, he took to Instagram to assure fans what was going on.

As France started the clip, “Don’t freak out. I know my hair’s dark. It’s fine.” He then amended this, saying, “Well, no, it’s not. I know it’s very weird to see me with dark hair. It’s weird to see myself with dark hair.”

The Queer Eye star explained that it was for a role he was filming for. He also explained that he originally didn’t want to publicly share his new appearance. However, a few run-ins with fans made him feel like he needed to explain the situation. He also wanted to make clear what wasn’t going on.

As France continued, “I wasn’t going to share this at all, but I’ve been out twice in the last couple days, and people are very confused. So, I just need to make it clear, this is not a midlife crisis.”

When comparing the two looks, France maintained, “I hate dark hair on me. I love my silver hair. I love my grays. I’m not ashamed of them whatsoever. I’m really proud of my grays.”

France Will Be Part Of The Holiday Comedy Clashing Through The Snow

For fans who preferred him as a silver fox, France assured, “I’m gonna go right back — hopefully — to my natural color in the next month or two. Don’t freak out.”

A few familiar figures also reacted to the share. For example, Antoni Porowski, who served as Queer Eye‘s food and wine expert, shared, “My brain is glitching so hard.” France himself responded to this, writing, “I know, Ant. Mine has been for days now.”

According to IMDB, France is part of the Prime Video holiday comedy Clashing Through the Snow. The film, starring Christopher Briney and Michelle Randolph, follows two co-workers who go on a cross-country road trip.
