Welcome back, Below Deck Mediterranean fans! Last week, Captain Sandy praised Joe a little, so Nathan blamed Joe a lot. Captain Sandy called Nathan out for that, and in his talking head, Massi did too. But then, Joe accidentally injured a guest. So now, Nathan actually has something to hold over Joe on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 16.
What happened in Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 16?
Joe feels awful for injuring a charter guest, Kat feels defeated about her post-filming travel plans with Cooper, and Gen feels horrid about life in general. So, Kat finally snaps at Gen. But the worst fight happens at the end, when tensions between Nathan, Joe, and Gael unfortunately came to a head.
Charter guest Michelle suffers a broken shoulder
Charter guest Michelle stays calm and barely complains, past an occasional “ouch.” Gen is not complaining either. Because “The medic’s hot.”
Kayley feels bad for Joe. But Kat saw everything. “It wasn’t his fault,” Kat explains. That wake “came out of nowhere.”
Joe remembers the same. “One gust of wind and then a wake,” he sighs. Cooper and Massi get it. Neither man blames Joe.
Michelle needs to get to the hospital, but the water is too choppy to tender her in. Captain Sandy will have to drive the yacht back to the dock. She tells Nathan to get the water toys in, stat. Aesha, forever the ride-or-die for everyone, runs outside to help.
Joe feels bad, but “the elements took control,” so this was a fluke accident. Nathan reassures him to his face, but in his confessional, Nathan cries “Bullsh*t, bullsh*t.” Joe was “going too fast.”
Night falls. The yacht heads to the dock, but the always-annoying party boat is right there, making things tense. Luckily, all goes well, and Michelle safely leaves the yacht, bound for the hospital.
With the carb-aholic off the boat, Joy can cook as she pleases. And Joy pleases a “giant BBQ,” which Massi signs on to help her with. But oops, the hospital is sending Michelle back. Her shoulder is actually broken and in need of surgery, which she will get in America.
Joe feels even worse. To help turn things around for their all-female guests, he and Massi agree to a strip tease. But before he wows them with his meat, Massi hopes to impress Joy with her actual meat on the grill. He succeeds, and Joy thanks him, but later, she admits she only has time for one Romeo story, and that honor still belongs to Luke.
Cooper lets Kat down, and Kat finally snaps
Poor Kat. She and Cooper made post-season plans, which Cooper invited Joe to crash last week. After learning about that this week, Kat smiles, but she is “going to be three-wheeling around the whole time” now, and she hates that. Cooper hears her, but insists it will be fun.
Speaking of fun, it’s strip tease time! After eating with the guests, Captain Sandy decides to stay for the show. And what a show it is, especially for the blow-up doll Joe humps. Massi is just as wild, whipping Joe while renaming himself “Stripman,” like Batman, only sexier.
The guests are fully satisfied, and once Michelle returns, they go to bed, leaving a mess for Gen. Gen complains, but gets the job done. The next morning, however, Kat decides she’s finally had enough of Gen’s negativity. Kat tells Aesha, who promises to deal with Gen.
But then, Kat handles things herself. When Gen complains again, Kat finally snaps. The music builds and flashbacks air as Kat pops off in a very Kat-like way, not yelling and still mostly smiling, while speaking firmly and directly, letting Gen know she is over her antics this season.
Aesha overhears and smiles. Gen pulls her aside and tries to get ahead of things. But Aesha squashes her plans. She tells Gen she is “the common denominator,” and she should use this season as “a teaching moment” to help her grow as a person.
Gen cries and calls her mom. Her mom tells her to respect her crew and end things “on a high note.” Gen promises to try, mainly “to spite” them all.
Tensions rise between Nathan, Joe, and Gael
Earlier, the deck team cleaned the bridge forward area, but Nathan thinks it looks “like sh*t.” Joe takes a deep breath, but says nothing. At least not out loud.
Gen has a lot to say to Kat, though. She owns her faults and apologizes. But she also slightly changes the details involving her talk with Aesha. Oh well, at least these girls are at peace (for now).
The guests depart, leaving a decent $23,500 tip. Nathan asks Aesha to babysit so he can take Gael out. Aesha says yes.
At Nathan and Gael’s rental, Aesha cuddles Kayden, and Nathan and Gael leave. They end up sitting directly across from Joe at dinner. Annoyed, Joe turns his chair to avoid them. Joe remains in this position during his confessional, joking about how little he cares.
Gael asks the table for their Season 11 tea. Gen decides to kill her crew with kindness via her response, which confuses almost everyone. Joe takes the same angle (sort of), overly praising Cooper. Joe knows that “I can get provoked if I’m dealing with an assh*le like this,” Nathan pre-blames in his interview.
Gael tries to squash their beef in the sprinter van, and Joe sighs, “Here we go.” Gael wants Joe to respect their family, but Joe has “not said one bad word,” he says, so “this is crazy.” Nathan rises from his seat. Joe asks if he is about to hit him, and the words TO BE CONTINUED appear.
