Frozen 3 officially got its first look, and Disney also unveiled a brand-new animated movie starring Kieran Culkin.
During Disney’s D23 Expo, Disney closed out its panel by talking about one of its most anticipated sequels, Frozen 3. Disney showed off the movie in grand fashion, bringing out Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad, who play the roles of Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf, respectively.
They didn’t talk much about the upcoming movie, but did mention we’ll see Anna and Kristoff get married, a new villain get introduced, and Olaf finally find a love interest for himself in the form of Samantha, another snowperson.
Some songs were also sung for the crowd in attendance. Both Frozen movies were mega hits for Disney, with the first releasing in 2013 and earning over $1.3 billion. That was directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, who also wrote the film. The second film was directed by pair again, and released in 2019, earning over $1.45 billion at the box office.
Kieran Culkin will star in new Disney Animation movie
Alongside Frozen 3 news, Disney also revealed that it was working on a brand new animated movie from its Disney Animation’s wing. The movie, Clay, will release in November 2028, and star Kieran Culkin as a man who is the mentor to a moldable ball of clay.
The movie follows the pair on an adventure through a magical forest of sorts, at least if the concept art for the movie is any indication. Culkin is best known for his starring role in the hit HBO series Succession, in which he’s won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for. In 2025, Culkin added an Oscar to that collection, winning Best Supporting Actor for his role in A Real Pain.
