We just got an early Halloween treat, as we’ve learned Michael Myers will stalk the pages of a new comic soon!
Daily Dead announced this afternoon that the developer behind Halloween: The Game, Illfonic, has teamed with PANICK Entertainment (alongside partners Compass International Pictures and Further Front) to bring fans a comic series set within the game.
Cue that Michael Myers dance GIF.
The outlet notes that the comic “takes readers back to the terrifying events surrounding Halloween 1978, offering a new story featuring Michael Myers at his most relentless.”
The official synopsis offers that the comic begins: “On the night before Halloween 1978, where Michael Myers orchestrates a brutal escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. As Dr. Loomis realizes pure evil is loose, Michael begins his relentless journey home toward Haddonfield, slaughtering anyone unfortunate enough to cross his path.”
Hans Rodionoff and Adam F. Goldberg wrote the comic, with Eamon Winkle, Robert Nugent, Ivan Dedov and Sean O’Toole providing the interior art.
What I love to death about this is that it isn’t just a straight-up retelling of the iconic slasher film unleashed by John Carpenter in 1978. Instead, it will tell a different story centered around the new characters in the game. Essentially, we’re getting a brand new Michael Myers story!
Said Malek Akkad of Compass International Films: “Rather than just re-enact or adapt the story of the original film into a comic book, we wanted to explore the five new characters from the game and create new suspense-filled stories with Michael Myers. We wanted the comic to be able to stand on its own, so we put a lot of time and care into choosing the creative team, making sure that we were getting top-tier artists and writers to bring the story to life.”
The first issue of the series became available on November 4th.
As for the game itself, it slashes into homes on September 8, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with Advance Access beginning September 4 for the Deluxe Edition.
