Doomsday’ Ticket Pre-Sales Cross M Domestically

Domestic ticket pre-sales for Avengers: Doomsday have crossed $50 million with still over three months to go.

This is a great start for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment, which hits the big screen December 18, 2026 alongside Denis Villeneuve’s third Dune film, which will have IMAX screens its opening weekend.

Audiences are gravitating towards premium formats with over 70% of sales going to Infinity Vision tickets.

The July trailer for Avengers: Doomsday ranks as the second-biggest movie trailer launch of all time, and Disney’s most-viewed trailer in history.

In its first 24 hours, the trailer for Avengers Endgame: Encore earned 77M views, which is over four times larger than any re-release trailer ever. The extended version of the pivotal 2019 film will rerelease in theaters September 25.

Marvel’s five-hour-plus livestream unveiling the Doomsday cast with names on the back of set chairs netted 275M digital views and 3.1M social mentions, we were told.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day set the biggest opening record at the box office for a Marvel movie, raking in $360M in its first weekend in theaters. The Sony and Marvel collaboration dethroned Avengers: Endgame’s $357.1M opening in April 2019.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day made $150M in advance ticket sales as of the Thursday before it opened on July 31.

Following the recent marketing for Avengers: Doomsday, as well as the incredible theatrical success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Marvel recorded its highest hours in Disney+ history with over 420M hours for the month of August.

The total lift for Marvel titles in anticipation of Avengers: Doomsday is far and away the highest lift Disney+ has ever seen driven by a theatrical release at over 200M hours.
